About Takhzyro

Overview

Takhzyro contains lanadelumab-flyo, a monoclonal antibody supplied in a pre-filled syringe for injection under the skin. It is used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It blocks the activity of plasma kallikrein, reducing excess production of bradykinin, a substance that causes swelling and pain associated with HAE.

Prevention of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks in adults and children aged 2 years and older.

Safety information

Side effects

Common side effects include reactions at the injection site, upper respiratory infections, headache, rash, dizziness, diarrhea and muscle pain. These were reported in at least 10% of patients. Allergic reactions have also been reported. If you have a severe allergic reaction, stop Takhzyro and seek immediate medical attention.

When to call your doctor

- Seek medical attention immediately if you have a severe allergic reaction to Takhzyro.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.

Before taking this medicine

The label lists no contraindications. Hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions have been reported. If a severe allergic reaction occurs, stop Takhzyro and seek immediate medical treatment.
