Before taking this medicine

Do not take Binosto if you have: • Problems with the esophagus (food pipe) that delay emptying, such as narrowing or achalasia. • An inability to sit or stand upright for at least 30 minutes. • An increased risk of aspiration (fluid or food entering the airway). • Low blood calcium, which must be corrected before treatment. • An allergy to any ingredient in Binosto. Allergic reactions including hives and swelling have been reported. Binosto is not indicated for children and is not recommended for people with kidney impairment when creatinine clearance is below 35 mL/min. Stop taking it if pregnancy is recognized. Binosto can cause irritation or other problems in the upper digestive tract. Follow the administration instructions and stop taking it if new or worsening symptoms occur. Stop use if severe bone, joint or muscle pain develops. Jawbone damage and unusual fractures, including thighbone fractures, have been reported. New thigh or groin pain needs medical assessment; your prescriber should review whether treatment should continue. Use caution if you are on a sodium-restricted diet: each tablet contains 603 mg of sodium.
