About Vyepti

Overview

Vyepti contains eptinezumab, a monoclonal antibody medicine given by intravenous infusion. It is used to prevent migraine in adults. It works by binding to a protein called CGRP and blocking it from attaching to its receptor.

Side effects

Common side effects include nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat) and hypersensitivity (allergic reactions). Contact your doctor if you develop an allergic reaction, constipation, new or worsening high blood pressure, or new or worsening Raynaud’s phenomenon. Constipation can cause serious complications. An allergic reaction may require stopping Vyepti and appropriate treatment.

When to call your doctor

Seek medical attention immediately if you develop: - An allergic reaction. - Severe constipation or complications from constipation. - New or worsening high blood pressure. - New or worsening Raynaud’s phenomenon.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.

Before taking this medicine

Do not use Vyepti if you have had a serious allergic reaction to eptinezumab or any of its other ingredients. Reported reactions include anaphylaxis and angioedema (swelling). Vyepti may cause constipation with serious complications, new or worsening high blood pressure, and new or worsening Raynaud’s phenomenon. Tell your prescriber if you have constipation, high blood pressure or Raynaud’s phenomenon. If an allergic reaction occurs, appropriate treatment is needed, and your prescriber may stop Vyepti.

Dosing is set by your prescriber. Each health care professional may prescribe medication differently according to a patient's medical history and condition, so follow the directions on your prescription label and speak to your doctor or pharmacist before changing anything.

Storage

Store in the original carton below 25°C, protected from light, unless the pack states refrigeration. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
