Tepezza

Before taking this medicine

The label lists no contraindications to Tepezza. However, the following require caution: • Infusion reactions: If a reaction occurs, the infusion may need to be interrupted or slowed, with appropriate medical treatment. • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): Monitoring is needed for signs and symptoms, including in people without a history of IBD. Tepezza should be stopped if worsening IBD is suspected. • High blood sugar or diabetes: Blood sugar and symptoms of high blood sugar should be checked before infusions and monitored during treatment. Blood sugar should be appropriately controlled before and during treatment. • Hearing impairment: Tepezza may cause severe hearing impairment, including hearing loss that can be permanent. Hearing should be assessed before, during and after treatment, and the benefits and risks discussed with the patient. People who can become pregnant should use appropriate contraception before starting treatment, during treatment and for 6 months after the last dose.
