Before taking this medicine

Do not take Tamiflu-NA if you have a known serious allergy to oseltamivir or any ingredient in the capsules. Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and serious skin reactions such as Stevens–Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis and erythema multiforme, have been reported. Stop taking it and seek medical care if an allergic reaction occurs or is suspected. People with influenza, particularly children, should be closely monitored for confusion, hallucinations or unusual behaviour. These events have sometimes led to injury or death. It is not known whether oseltamivir contributes to them, and influenza itself can cause these symptoms. If they occur, the prescriber should assess whether treatment should continue. Serious bacterial infections can resemble influenza, occur alongside it or develop as a complication. Oseltamivir has not been shown to prevent these complications, and there is no evidence that it works against illnesses caused by pathogens other than influenza viruses. Suspected bacterial infections need medical assessment and appropriate treatment.
