About Simbrinza
Overview
Simbrinza is an eye drop suspension containing brinzolamide and brimonidine tartrate. It is used to lower elevated pressure inside the eye in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The two ingredients work by reducing fluid production in the eye and helping fluid drain out, which lowers eye pressure.

Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects, reported in approximately 3% to 5% of patients, include blurred vision, eye irritation, a bad taste, dry mouth and eye allergy. Contact your doctor about potentially serious risks, including sulfonamide hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions and loss of cells in the inner layer of the cornea. Severe kidney impairment may also limit the metabolism of brinzolamide, one of the active ingredients; tell your doctor if you have this condition.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Simbrinza if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. It must not be used in children under two years of age. Caution is needed because brinzolamide may cause sulfonamide hypersensitivity reactions. There is also a risk of loss of cells in the inner layer of the cornea. Severe kidney impairment may limit the body’s ability to process brinzolamide.
Interactions
Tell your doctor if you take any of the following, as the Simbrinza label lists them as potential interactions: - Oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors - High-dose salicylates - Medicines that slow central nervous system activity - Blood pressure medicines or cardiac glycosides - Tricyclic antidepressants - Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors

Dosing

Storage
Store below 25°C away from direct light. Once opened, follow the in-use period printed on the pack and do not let the dropper touch the eye or any surface. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
