About REBINYN
Overview
REBINYN (nonacog beta pegol) is a recombinant coagulation Factor IX medicine supplied in a vial for intravenous infusion. It is used in adults and children with hemophilia B to treat and control bleeding, manage bleeding around surgery, and help reduce how often bleeding episodes occur. It works by temporarily replacing the missing Factor IX needed for blood to clot.
What it treats
For adults and children with hemophilia B (congenital factor IX deficiency): • Treatment and control of bleeding episodes • Management of bleeding around surgery • Routine prevention to reduce how often bleeding episodes occur Not indicated for immune tolerance induction in patients with hemophilia B.
Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects reported with REBINYN include itching and injection site reactions. In people who had not previously received treatment, rash, allergic reactions, severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), and Factor IX inhibitors were also commonly reported. Factor IX inhibitors are antibodies that can interfere with treatment. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop REBINYN and seek medical help immediately. Anaphylaxis can be life-threatening. Contact your doctor if bleeding is not controlled, as testing for Factor IX inhibitors may be needed. Factor IX products have been associated with blood clots. Nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney condition, has been reported during immune tolerance treatment with Factor IX products in people with hemophilia B who had Factor IX inhibitors and a history of allergic reactions to Factor IX. These complications require medical attention.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use REBINYN if you have a known allergy to REBINYN or any of its components, including hamster proteins. Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, have occurred. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop REBINYN and seek immediate medical care. Conditions requiring caution include: • Factor IX inhibitors: These antibodies can develop during treatment and reduce its effect. Testing is needed if bleeding is not controlled or Factor IX activity does not rise as expected. • Blood clots: Clotting complications have been associated with Factor IX products. • Kidney complications: Nephrotic syndrome has been reported after immune tolerance induction with Factor IX products in people with hemophilia B who have Factor IX inhibitors and a history of allergic reactions to Factor IX. Factor IX activity test results may vary depending on the laboratory reagent used.
