Before taking this medicine

Do not use this medicine if you have a known allergy to GnRH, GnRH agonist medicines or any of its ingredients. Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, have been reported with synthetic GnRH and GnRH agonists. Conditions requiring caution include: - Existing or possible urinary blockage or spinal cord compression. A temporary rise in testosterone during the first few weeks may worsen symptoms or cause new bone pain, nerve problems, blood in the urine or obstruction. People at risk need close monitoring. - Diabetes or high blood sugar. Increased blood sugar and a higher risk of developing diabetes have been reported in men; blood glucose should be monitored. - Cardiovascular disease or a prolonged QT interval. Heart attack, sudden cardiac death and stroke have been reported in men receiving GnRH analogues. Treatment may also prolong the QT interval, affecting the heart’s electrical rhythm. - A history of seizures. Seizures can also occur without known risk factors. Severe skin reactions, including Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, require treatment interruption and permanent discontinuation if confirmed. This medicine may harm an unborn baby and may impair fertility. Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established for the product covered by this label.
