Before taking this medicine

Do not use Kesimpta if you have an active hepatitis B infection, have had an allergic reaction to ofatumumab, or have had a life-threatening injection-related reaction to Kesimpta. Allergic reactions have included anaphylaxis and angioedema (serious swelling). Conditions requiring caution include: • Active infection: treatment should be delayed until the infection has resolved. Serious, life-threatening and fatal infections have occurred with anti-CD20 therapies. • Injection-related or allergic reactions: management depends on the type and severity of the reaction. • Low immunoglobulin levels: these immune proteins should be monitored before, during and after treatment until B cells recover. Your prescriber may consider stopping treatment if you develop a serious opportunistic infection or recurrent infections alongside levels indicating weakened immunity. • Liver injury: liver blood tests are needed before treatment and during treatment when clinically indicated. Treatment should be stopped if liver injury occurs without another identifiable cause. • Pregnancy or potential pregnancy: Kesimpta may harm an unborn baby, based on animal data. Use effective contraception during treatment and for 6 months after stopping. Live or live-attenuated vaccines are not recommended during treatment or after stopping until B cells recover.
