About IDELVION
Overview
IDELVION contains recombinant coagulation Factor IX fused with albumin. It is used in children and adults with hemophilia B, an inherited lack of Factor IX, to control bleeding episodes, manage bleeding around surgery and reduce how often bleeding occurs. It works by temporarily replacing the missing Factor IX needed for blood clotting, while the attached albumin helps it last longer in the body.
What it treats
In children and adults with hemophilia B (congenital factor IX deficiency): - Treatment and control of bleeding episodes. - Management of bleeding around surgery. - Routine prevention to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes. IDELVION is not indicated for immune tolerance induction in patients with hemophilia B.
Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects reported in clinical trials include headache, dizziness, allergic reactions and rash. Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, may occur. Stop using IDELVION and seek immediate medical help if an allergic reaction occurs. Other serious risks to discuss promptly with a doctor include: - Blood clots, including clots in the lungs, veins or arteries. - Antibodies against Factor IX, called inhibitors, which can prevent treatment from working as expected. Contact your doctor if bleeding is not controlled. - Nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney condition, has been reported following immune tolerance treatment with Factor IX-containing products in people with hemophilia B who have Factor IX inhibitors and a history of allergic reactions to Factor IX.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use IDELVION if you have had a life-threatening allergic reaction to IDELVION or any of its components, including hamster proteins. Allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur. If symptoms develop, stop IDELVION and seek immediate medical care. Caution is needed because blood clots can occur with Factor IX-containing products. Antibodies called Factor IX inhibitors may develop and reduce treatment effectiveness. Testing is needed if expected Factor IX levels are not reached or bleeding is not controlled. Nephrotic syndrome, a kidney condition, has been reported after immune tolerance treatment with Factor IX-containing products in people with hemophilia B who have Factor IX inhibitors and a history of allergic reactions to Factor IX.
