About Elzonris
Overview
Elzonris (tagraxofusp) is a prescription medicine given by intravenous infusion. It treats blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It targets cells with a protein called CD123 and stops them from making proteins, causing those cells to die.

Side effects
Common side effects include nausea, tiredness, fever, swelling in the limbs, weight gain and capillary leak syndrome. Common blood test changes include low albumin, platelets, hemoglobin, calcium and sodium, and increased blood sugar and liver enzymes (ALT and AST). Serious side effects include capillary leak syndrome, allergic reactions and liver toxicity. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience a serious reaction. Your healthcare team will monitor for allergic reactions and check your liver enzymes during treatment.

Before taking this medicine
The label lists no contraindications for Elzonris. Patients should be monitored for signs of hypersensitivity reactions and treated appropriately if these occur. Elzonris can cause liver toxicity. Liver enzymes ALT and AST should be monitored, and treatment interrupted if they rise to more than 5 times the upper limit of normal. Women should not breastfeed while receiving Elzonris.
