About Elahere
Overview
Elahere (mirvetuximab soravtansine) is a prescription cancer medicine that combines an antibody with a drug that disrupts cell division. It treats adults with folate receptor-alpha (FRα)-positive, platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who have received one to three previous systemic treatment regimens. An FDA-approved test is used to select patients for treatment. It works by attaching to FRα on cells and releasing a drug inside them that disrupts cell division and causes cell death.
What it treats
Used to treat adults with folate receptor-alpha (FRα)-positive, platinum-resistant: • Epithelial ovarian cancer • Fallopian tube cancer • Primary peritoneal cancer Patients must have received one to three prior systemic treatment regimens and be selected using an FDA-approved test.
Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects include tiredness, blurred vision, dry eyes, changes to the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, reduced appetite, muscle and joint pain, and nerve problems. Common blood test changes include increased liver enzymes and reduced levels of blood cells, magnesium, and albumin, a protein in the blood. Contact your doctor about eye or vision problems, new or worsening nerve problems, or possible lung inflammation (pneumonitis). These can be serious. Lung inflammation or nerve problems may require treatment to be paused, adjusted or permanently stopped by your doctor. Elahere can harm an unborn baby. Use effective contraception and contact your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment.

Before taking this medicine
The label lists no formal contraindications. However, Elahere should be avoided in people with moderate or severe liver impairment. Elahere can harm an unborn baby. Effective contraception is advised, and patients should not breastfeed during treatment. Lung inflammation (pneumonitis) and new or worsening peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) require monitoring. Depending on severity, the prescriber may need to pause, adjust or permanently stop treatment. Severe pneumonitis requires permanent discontinuation.
Interactions
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may interact with Elahere. Tell your doctor about medicines you take so they can check for this interaction. If you take a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor, your doctor should monitor you closely for Elahere side effects.

Storage
Store in the original carton below 25°C, protected from light, unless the pack states refrigeration. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
