About Differin
Overview
Differin is a gel containing adapalene, a retinoid medicine. It is used on the skin to treat acne in people aged 12 years and older. Adapalene affects how skin cells develop and how inflammation occurs, although its exact role in treating acne is not fully understood.

Side effects
Common side effects include skin redness, scaling, dryness, and burning or stinging. Serious allergic reactions can occur, including anaphylaxis, swelling beneath the skin, swelling of the face, eyelids or lips, and itching. Stop using Differin and seek medical help immediately if you have an allergic reaction. Avoid sunlight and sunlamps. Use sunscreen when sun exposure cannot be avoided. Other potentially irritating skin products, including abrasive cleansers, drying soaps or cosmetics, and products high in alcohol, should be used with caution.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Differin if you are allergic to adapalene or any of its other ingredients. Stop using it if an allergic reaction occurs. Reported reactions include anaphylaxis, swelling of the face, eyelids or lips, and itching. Avoid sunlight and sunlamps. Use sunscreen when sun exposure cannot be avoided. Differin may cause redness, scaling, dryness, stinging or burning. Use caution with other potentially irritating skin products, including medicated or abrasive soaps and cleansers, strongly drying soaps or cosmetics, and products containing high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, spices or lime.

Storage
Store below 25°C with the cap closed, away from direct light and heat. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
