About Dayvigo
Overview
Dayvigo is a prescription medicine containing lemborexant, available as tablets. It is used to treat adults with insomnia who have difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or both. It is thought to work by blocking orexin signals in the brain that help keep you awake.

Side effects
The most common side effect of Dayvigo (lemborexant) is sleepiness. It can reduce alertness and coordination, including the next morning. These risks increase with higher doses and with other medicines that depress the central nervous system. Contact your doctor if you experience sleep paralysis, hallucinations while falling asleep or waking up, sudden muscle weakness, breathing problems, worsening depression or suicidal thoughts. Seek urgent medical help for suicidal thoughts. Sleepwalking, sleep-driving and other activities while not fully awake can occur. Stop taking Dayvigo immediately and contact your doctor if any of these occur.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not take Dayvigo (lemborexant) if you have narcolepsy. Caution is needed if you have impaired breathing, depression or suicidal thoughts, or use other medicines that depress the central nervous system. Dayvigo can reduce alertness and coordination, including the next morning; other central nervous system depressants increase this risk. Sleep paralysis, hallucinations when falling asleep or waking, and sudden muscle weakness may occur. Stop taking Dayvigo immediately if you sleepwalk, drive while asleep or do other activities while not fully awake. Depression or suicidal thoughts may worsen. If insomnia continues after 7 to 10 days of treatment, a medical reassessment is needed to check for other conditions.
Interactions
Dayvigo should not be taken with medicines classed as strong or moderate CYP3A inhibitors or inducers. Weak CYP3A inhibitors also affect the recommended dose, so your prescriber may need to adjust it. Ask your doctor to check whether any medicines you take fall into these groups.

Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, in the original pack, away from direct light and moisture. Do not keep it in a bathroom. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
