Side effects
The supplied aztreonam label lists diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, and rash among the more frequently reported side effects, each affecting approximately 1% to 1.3% of patients. Seek urgent medical help for a severe allergic reaction, swelling, wheezing or difficulty breathing; a severe skin reaction with peeling; or a seizure. These serious reactions were reported in fewer than 1% of patients. Contact a doctor promptly for diarrhea during or after antibiotic treatment, as it may be associated with C. difficile infection and serious bowel inflammation. Other serious reported effects include gastrointestinal bleeding, changes in blood cell counts, liver inflammation or jaundice, low blood pressure, heart rhythm changes, chest pain, confusion and brain dysfunction. Other reported effects include abdominal cramps, itching, dizziness, headache, weakness, fever, muscle aches, ringing in the ears, double vision, mouth ulcers, altered taste and vaginal yeast infection.

Do not use this medicine if you have a known allergy to aztreonam or any other ingredient in the formulation.
