About Benefix
Overview
BeneFIX contains recombinant coagulation factor IX, a clotting protein made using recombinant DNA technology. It is used in adults and children with hemophilia B to treat and control bleeding episodes, manage bleeding around surgery, and reduce how often bleeding episodes occur. It works by temporarily replacing the missing factor IX needed for blood to clot effectively.
