About Trulance
Overview
Trulance contains plecanatide, a guanylate cyclase-C (GC-C) agonist, and comes as an oral tablet. It is used in adults to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) and irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). It acts locally in the intestines to increase fluid and help move stool through the bowel more quickly.

In adults: - Chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC). - Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C).
Safety information
Side effects
Diarrhea is the most common side effect of Trulance, occurring in at least 2% of patients. Diarrhea can be severe. If severe diarrhea occurs, stop taking Trulance and contact your doctor. Rehydration is needed.

Before taking this medicine
Do not take Trulance if you have a known or suspected physical blockage in the stomach or intestines. Children under 6 years of age must not take it because of the risk of serious dehydration. Trulance can cause severe diarrhea. If this occurs, stop taking it and seek medical advice to replace lost fluids.

Storage
