About Taclonex
Overview
Taclonex contains calcipotriene, a vitamin D analog, and betamethasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid. It is applied to the skin to treat plaque psoriasis of the scalp and body in people aged 12 years and older. It combines the effects of these two ingredients, although exactly how they work to treat plaque psoriasis is not known.

Safety information
Side effects
Common side effects include inflammation of hair follicles (folliculitis) and a burning sensation on the skin. Serious side effects include high calcium levels in the blood or urine and suppression of the body’s natural steroid hormone production. This suppression can lead to insufficient steroid hormone levels during treatment or after stopping. Contact your doctor if you are told you have abnormal calcium levels or reduced steroid hormone production. Taclonex may also increase the risk of cataracts and glaucoma. Contact your doctor if you develop any changes in vision.
