About Spevigo
Overview
Spevigo (spesolimab-sbzo) is a prescription monoclonal antibody medicine supplied in a vial for intravenous use. It treats generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) in adults and children aged 12 years and older who weigh at least 40 kg. It works by blocking the interleukin-36 receptor, reducing signals that promote inflammation.

Side effects
Common side effects reported during treatment of a generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) flare include weakness, tiredness, headache, nausea, itching, itchy skin bumps (prurigo), bruising or a collection of blood at the infusion site, and urinary tract infection. Spevigo may increase the risk of infections. Contact your doctor if you develop signs or symptoms of a significant infection during or after treatment. Treatment may need to be stopped until the infection resolves or is adequately treated. Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and DRESS (a drug reaction involving increased eosinophil blood cells and symptoms affecting the body), can occur and require immediate medical attention. Infusion-related reactions can also occur; tell your healthcare professional if you feel unwell during an infusion.

If symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, seek emergency care rather than waiting.
Before taking this medicine
Do not use Spevigo if you have had a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction to spesolimab-sbzo or any of its other ingredients. Reported reactions include anaphylaxis and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS). Spevigo may increase the risk of infections. Treatment is not recommended if you have a clinically important active infection. Seek medical advice if signs or symptoms of infection develop during or after treatment. If a clinically important active infection develops, treatment should be stopped until it has resolved or been adequately treated. You should be evaluated for tuberculosis (TB) before starting treatment. Allergic and infusion-related reactions can occur. If a serious allergic reaction occurs, Spevigo must be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment started. Avoid live vaccines during treatment and for at least 16 weeks afterward.

Storage
Store in the original carton below 25°C, protected from light, unless the pack states refrigeration. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
