Before taking this medicine
Do not use this medicine if you have a systemic fungal infection or a known allergy to any of its components.
Interactions
Tell your doctor if you take phenobarbital, phenytoin or rifampin, which may reduce corticosteroid effects, or troleandomycin or ketoconazole, which may increase corticosteroid exposure and the risk of toxicity. Regular high-dose aspirin use needs review: corticosteroids may lower salicylate levels, and stopping the corticosteroid may increase the risk of salicylate toxicity. Aspirin also requires caution if you have low prothrombin levels, a blood-clotting problem. Corticosteroids can increase or decrease the effects of oral anticoagulants. Your doctor should monitor blood-clotting tests if these medicines are used together.
