About Oxistat
Overview
Oxistat is an antifungal lotion containing oxiconazole nitrate, for use on the skin only. It treats athlete’s foot, jock itch and ringworm of the body caused by certain fungi. Its active ingredient works against the fungi responsible for these skin infections.
What it treats
- Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) - Jock itch (tinea cruris) - Ringworm of the body (tinea corporis) For infections caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, or Epidermophyton floccosum.
Safety information
Side effects
Reported side effects include burning, stinging, itching, scaling, tingling, skin pain and eczema. Burning and stinging were reported most often in the clinical trial. Other reported reactions include skin irritation, allergic contact dermatitis (an allergic skin reaction), inflamed hair follicles, redness, raised bumps, cracks in the skin, softened or soggy skin, rash and lumps under the skin. The supplied label does not identify specific reactions as serious or give instructions on when to contact a doctor.

Do not use Oxistat if you are allergic to oxiconazole nitrate or any other ingredient in the medicine.
