Flonase Spray

Before taking this medicine

Do not use Flonase Spray if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any of its ingredients. Avoid use if you have recent nasal ulcers, nasal surgery or a nasal injury, because it can impair healing. Use requires caution if you have: - Tuberculosis or a fungal, bacterial, viral or parasitic infection, including herpes simplex infection of the eye. These infections may worsen. Chickenpox or measles may be more serious or even fatal in susceptible people. - Glaucoma, cataracts or new eye symptoms. An eye specialist assessment may be needed if eye symptoms develop or with long-term use. - Liver impairment, which requires monitoring for increased exposure to the medicine. Monitoring may be needed for nosebleeds, nasal ulcers, Candida infection or damage to the tissue dividing the nostrils. Excess corticosteroid effects and reduced adrenal gland function can occur, particularly with very high use or in susceptible people. If these occur, withdrawal should be gradual under medical supervision. Children’s growth should be monitored. Stop using the spray if an allergic reaction occurs, such as a severe allergic reaction, swelling, hives, contact dermatitis or a rash.
