About Calmanervin
Overview
Calmanervin is a herbal medicine containing passiflora and valerian root. It is used to help relieve mild nervous tension and temporary difficulty sleeping. These herbs are thought to have a calming effect on the nervous system, although exactly how they work is not fully understood.

Before taking this medicine
Do not take Calmanervin if you are allergic to passionflower (Passiflora), valerian root or any other ingredient in the product. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended because safety has not been established. Consult a healthcare professional before giving this medicine to a child. This medicine may cause drowsiness. Avoid alcohol, and seek medical advice before combining it with sleeping medicines, sedatives or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy or less alert.
Interactions
Passiflora and valerian may increase the drowsiness caused by alcohol and other medicines or supplements with sedating effects. Avoid alcohol and check with your doctor before combining Calmanervin with sleeping medicines, medicines for anxiety, opioid painkillers, sedating antihistamines or other calming herbal products. Tell your doctor or anaesthetist if you take Calmanervin before surgery or a procedure involving sedation. Include all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products and supplements when discussing possible interactions.
